Labor Day Traffic Fatalities Down By One From Last Year

The Ohio Highway Patrol says 11 people died in traffic crashes over Labor Day weekend.  Authorities say alcohol was a factor in at least four of the fatalities, while two others were motorcycle riders who were not wearing helmets. Officials say ten people died during the same four-day period last year. Troopers arrested 723 motorists for drunken or impaired driving, an 11 percent drop compared with last year. More than 6-thousand motorists were cited for failing to use safety belts.
