Man Sentenced For 2014 Slaying

Columbus Division of Police

A Columbus man who pleaded guilty to killing a man last year has been sentenced to life in prison. 35-year-old Raymond Johnson followed 26-year-old Carlton Gibbs-Green to his apartment, took a gun from an accomplice and fired nine rounds into the duplex in April of last year. Prosecutors say the shooting stemmed from an altercation between Gibbs-Green and the operator of an after-hours club on the East side. The accomplice, 25-year-old Elewis Hobbs, pleaded guilty in April to voluntary manslaughter and will be sentenced later this month.
