Local Mega-church Battling Insurer Before Ohio Supreme Court

Attorneys for a Columbus-area mega-church and its former insurance company are battling in the Ohio Supreme Court over payment of a 3.1-million-dollar settlement in a lawsuit over the alleged beating of a toddler at the church. At issue is whether Grange Mutual Casualty must pay 1 million dollars of the judgment in a World Harvest church daycare employee's alleged beating of a 2-year-old boy.  The company claims it is not responsible thanks to a clause in its policy that excludes coverage for acts of abuse or molestation. The company is fighting an appeals court ruling that says it is liable.
