A Republican state lawmaker is drawing criticism for questioning his female primary opponent's interest in the job while she is raising young children. While on a radio talk show on January 18, Senator Tom Patton noted Jennifer Herold is a 30-year-old mother of two, and questioned whether anyone told her that she'd have to spend three nights a week in Columbus. Later in the program, he referred to Herold as "sweetie." Herold says Patton crossed the line. Patton claims his comments were misunderstood.
