A Mount Gilead man was sentenced Monday to more than nine years in prison for his role in a string of thefts from animal shelters. Prosecutors say 30-year-old James Blankenship and another man stole cash, electronics and animal medications from shelters in 16 counties. Blankenship must also make 15 thousand dollars in restitution.
