The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled an insurance company is not liable for part of a Canal Winchester megachurch's 3.1 million dollar settlement over the alleged beating of a 2-year-old boy at the church daycare. The justices say an appeals court wrongly found Grange Mutual Casualty responsible for paying 1 million of the judgment awarded to the child's parents, who alleged an employee at World Harvest Church beat the boy with a ruler. The company said a clause in its policy with the church excluded coverage for acts of abuse or molestation. The church sought reimbursement for the settlement.
