Short North Posse Member Pleads Guilty To Avoid Trial

U.S. Attorney's Office

One of the last members of the Short North Posse gang to face charges will avoid a trial. 39-year-old DeShawn Smith has pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge in exchange for a 35-year prison sentence. Smith had faced more serious charges for the murder and robbery of Chillicothe drug dealer Shane McCuen in 2008.
