Local Man Sentenced For Fatal Robbery Attempt

Columbus Division of Police

A Columbus man will serve 15 years in prison for his role in a fatal burglary attempt on the east side last September. 19-year-old Christopher Gould pleaded guilty to robbery and manslaughter charges in the death of  his accomplice, 23-year-old William Evans, at a South Hampton road home. The two men broke into the home and the woman inside shot and killed Evans. Ohio's "Castle Doctrine" law protected the woman from prosecution.
