Man Charged With Assaulting Columbus Cop

Charges have been filed in an assault of a Columbus police bicycle officer last Saturday. 52-year-old Brian Richardson is accused of assaulting officer Eric Westbrook at North High Street and Fourth Avenue. Police say when Westbrook approached Richardson and a friend while the two were smoking marijuana, the friend fled the scene and Richardson assaulted the officer.
