Pete Rose's Bookie Found Dead In Warren County

Associated Press

Warren County authorities have identified the Franklin man found dead in his apartment last month as Ron Peters, the self-admitted bookie for former Cincinnati Reds great Pete Rose. Peters was found dead November 19 during a welfare check. The official cause of death has yet to be determined, but authorities say there are no signs of foul play. Peters testified in a 1989 investigation, saying Rose bet on games. His testimony played a major role in Rose's lifetime suspension from baseball.
