Columbus police have filed murder charges against a man after a woman was killed on the south side Sunday morning. Gervonta Thompson has been charged with killing 31-year-old Takasha Byers inside of her apartment at the Lockhurst Village Apartments off Lockbourne Road. Police say Byers was killed following an altercation with Thompson.
