An aging furnace is to blame for the spill of 300 tons of molten glass in Zanesville. Firefighters say the furnace at the Owens-Illinois glass plant failed Monday, causing a volcano-like discharge. No injuries are reported. Fire officials say they had been working with plant managers on a response plan in case of such an incident.
