Health Firm Plans To Build Behavioral Health Hospital In Columbus

Developers have unveiled plans to build a new behavioral health hospital on Columbus' south side. The 17 million dollar facility is expected to open in 2018. It will be operated by Cincinnati-based New Vista, which runs similar facilities in Cleveland and the queen city. It will have 80 beds for people with mental and/or substance abuse problems.  New Vista says there is a demand for beds that is not being met in the region. This will be one of five inpatient psychiatric facilities operating or being built in Columbus.
