Ohio's unemployment rate for January was 4.7 percent, down two-tenths of a point from December's revised figure.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services says today 271 thousand people were jobless last month, down 10 thousand from December. Non-farm payrolls in January rose by 12 thousand to more than 5.5 million. Ohio saw job gains in the construction, and professional and business services sectors. Ohio lost jobs in the leisure and hospitality, and information sectors.
