Analysis: Ohio Had Fourth-Highest Number Of Job Losses In First Quarter

Ohio is one of the top five states in the nation for job cuts in the first quarter of the year, according to an analysis by the executive firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas. 

Spokesperson Andrew Challenger:

Challenger says Ohio is ranked fourth with more than 10 thousand jobs lost.  Most of the cuts were in the retail, health care products and consumer products sectors. But Challenger says the pace of layoffs has slowed. 

Challenger blames bankruptcies, store closures and company restructurings for the job cuts.
