The former chief of the Scioto Township fire department in Pickaway County has filed a lawsuit seeking reinstatement.
Porter Welch was fired on August 16th by township trustees for alleged violations including failure to submit a balanced budget, failure to properly investigate potential departmental misconduct. Welch has not commented on the reasons for termination or the basis for his lawsuit.
