Third Person Convicted In Sports Beverage Scheme With Ohio Ties

A federal jury in Ohio has convicted a business manager of defrauding R&B artists Ne-Yo and Brian McKnight in a sports beverage scheme. 

Prosecutors say 42-year-old Kevin Foster of New Jersey induced Ne-Yo to invest 2 million dollars into OXYWater under false representations. They say Foster invested an additional 1.5 million of Ne-Yo's money without his consent and took out lines of credit by forging Ne-Yo's legal name (Shaffer Chimere Smith)Former Ohio State football player Preston Harrison and Thomas Jackson of Powell were previously convicted in the scheme.
