A federal judge Thursday granted former Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo's request for early release from prison.

The  judge reduced Russo's 22-year sentence to 14 years, citing his cooperation with prosecutors in a case that also brought down former County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora.  Russo now has eight years left on a sentence he started serving in 2012. Dimora is also the former chair of the Cuayhoga County Democratic Party.
