Bond Set For Suspect In Death Of Columbus Woman

Delaware County Sheriff's Office

Bond is set at 1.5 million dollars for the Columbus man accused of killing a woman found buried in a shallow grave at Alum Creek State Park earlier this month.

24-year-old John Bartholomew allegedly killed 28-year-old Brittany McDowell. Court documents show he told Delaware County Sheriff's deputies he picked her up while she was working as a prostitute on Sullivant Avenue. Court documents also show a dispute ensued, leading to her death.  Authorities have said that McDowell had a criminal record with multiple arrests for solicitation.
