Columbus Zoo Euthanizes Aging Black Rhino

Columbus Zoo

The Columbus Zoo says an aging female rhinoceros has been euthanized.

The 30-year-old eastern black rhino named Rosie had several age-related diseases. Rosie was the facility's only black rhino.  The life expectancy for rhinos in captivity is 19 years, and there are estimated to be less than 800 living in the wild.
