Weekly Jobless Claims Increase In Ohio, Decline Nationally

The Labor Department says first-time claims for unemployment insurance benefits have hit their lowest mark of the year. 320 thousand people filed claims last week, 15-thousand fewer than the previous week and the lowest total since October 2007. Ohio had the second-largest increase in claims last week among the 50 states. The department says claims rose by 1270 in Ohio due to layoffs in manufacturing.
