Columbus City Council last night approved a 7.2 million dollar payment to Ohio State University. The payment is for a tax break OSU received for the jobs it promised to create at its medical center. Columbus Development Director Steve Shoney says the school has yet to receive the money.

Council also approved spending 2 million dollars to repair 59 bridges. Officials say the work includes patching, resurfacing and the resealing of cracks. The repairs are expected to be completed by November of next year.
