Guilty Verdict In Case Of Robbery Victim Shot By Police

A Fairfield County jury has found an alleged burglar charged with causing a police officer to kill the robbery victim guilty. Prosecutors say 20-year-old David O'Neal broke into a Fairfield County apartment while armed last year, but lost the weapon in a struggle with 21-year-old Destin Thomas. Prosecutors say that's when a Columbus police officer shot and killed Thomas, not knowing he was the resident and not the burglar. Sentencing is pending.
