First Time Jobless Claims Rise In Ohio, Decline Nationally

The Labor Department says first-time claims for unemployment insurance benefits in Ohio rose by 2 thousand last week, due to layoffs in manufacturing. Ohio had the sixth highest increase of any state. Nationally, claims fell by 23 thousand to a seasonally-adjusted 298 thousand, the lowest figure since May 2007.
