Appeals Court Issues Stay Of Judge's Order In VLT Academy Case

An appeals court has put on hold a judge's order that the Ohio Department of Education sponsor a downtown Cincinnati charter school to keep it operating. The decision threatens to force VLT Academy to close. The First Ohio District Court of Appeals has issued a stay of a Hamilton County judge's order. The judge said the students would be harmed without the department's support. The department says the school is underperforming and financially irresponsible.
