Ohio Flu Deaths Rising

Cuyahoga County health officials say eight people died from the flu in one week. The deaths for the week ending January 10 is the most in a week since 2009. The Ohio Department of Health says more than 16 hundred people were hospitalized for the flu for the week ending January 10. That's a 36 percent increase from a week earlier and brings the seasonal total to more than 61 hundred.  State officials have said two young people, two teens, and two elderly women have died from flu-related complications. The Centers for Disease Control has said this year's vaccine may not protect against the flu strain dominating the state.
