It’s almost opening day for the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians, and many Ohioans are interested in getting tickets to those games.
But the Ohio Attorney General’s office is warning people to be careful the tickets they purchase are legitimate. Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles reports.
During the past year, the Ohio Attorney General’s office has received dozens of complaints involving tickets to popular sporting events or concerts. So the A.G. is issuing this warning: If the offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The AG says don’t pay for tickets via wire transfers or a prepaid card. Other advice includes checking out the reputation of the seller online before purchasing, checking the information being put out by the event organizer to make sure it matches and using a credit card for a purchase. Credit card companies often offer buyer protections that could limit your liability.
