Columbus City Council last night approved the city's portion of a multi-million dollar contract for resurfacing and repairing a portion of U.S. Route 23. Sponsoring Council member Shannon Hardin says the project includes the creation of the city's first-ever protected bicycle lane.

Council also approved a 10.5 million dollar contract for rennovation work at the Driving Park Recreation Center. Upgrades include classroom work, a new electrical system, and a new swimming pool. The money was approved by the voters that passed the city's bond package in 2013.
