The U.S. Department of Labor is suing Akron-area televangelist Ernest Angley and his buffet restaurant for violations of minimum wage, overtime and child labor laws. A department investigation investigation found 239 employees at Cathedral Buffet and Banquet Center are owed a total of 207 thousand dollars. The department says some workers were treated as volunteers and not paid; two teenagers worked in violation of restricted hours for minors; and four employees were paid less than the minimum wage and incorrectly classified as managers to avoid paying them overtime. Angley and the restaurant have declined comment.
