Five Franklin County Jail employees have been punished after mistakenly giving an inmate her early release. Sheriff Zach Scott says a lieutenant was suspended for a day and four other deputies and civilians received written reprimands for not following procedures. They allowed Quanetta James, a convicted identity thief, out early on May 6, then took two months to catch the paperwork mistake. Scott says the employees were supposed to turn James back over to the state prison system.
