An Ashville man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison under a plea deal after prosecutors say thrift store worker found photos of him sexually assaulting a toddler in a tote bag he donated to a charitable organization. 49-year-old Gary Sovie was arrested after a Salvation Army worker found 32 photos in the bag earlier this year.
