The Ohio Supreme Court has rejected a request from a woman sexually assaulted by pastor Brian Williams in Delaware when she was 15-years-old to boost the amount of damages paid by the church where the minister worked. Attorneys for the woman and her father say a state law limiting noneconomic damages to 350 thousand dollars violates the constitutional rights of underage victims of sexual assault. Attorneys for Delaware Grace Brethren Church argued the caps create a fairer and predictable civil justice system. The ruling upholds the caps, with two justices saying the court shouldn't have taken the case.
