FirstEnergy Considering Appeal Of Civil Judgement Awarded To Local Woman

Akron-based FirstEnergy is considering appealing a judgment against the utility in a civil lawsuit.  A jury in central Ohio has ordered the utility to pay more than 34 million dollars to a former nurse who sustained brain damage when her car crashed into a utility pole.  Lisa Jones' attorneys successfully argued an hour-long wait for FirstEnergy crews to remove downed power lines from her car in 2012 caused her permanent injuries.
