Jackson Township police chief Mark Brink say the Massillon-area seventh-grader who took his own life at school last week had planned a school shooting that would harm others before killing himself.

Brink says 13-year-old Keith Simons  put that plan on his cellphone.

Brink says it's not clear why Simons took his own life instead of carrying out the plot. He says investigators have found no warning signs leading up to the incident.

Brink says plans call for putting two officers in all area high schools and middle schools, and one officer in each elementary school, until the end of the year.
