Columbus Mayor Andy Ginther has appointed an interim police chief as the search for a successor to the retired Kim Jacobs continues.

Deputy Chief Thomas Quinlan will be interim chief.  The city is conducting a national search for a successor.  Quinlan is a 29-year veteran of the police division.  Ginther says his deputy chief of staff, Dawn Tyler Lee, will lead the search for Jacobs' successor.
