FirstEnergy Subsidiary Reaches Deal To Leave Bankruptcy

A deal is in place to help Akron-based FirstEnergy Solutions emerge from bankruptcy protection. 

Creditors have agreed on a plan that will create a privately-held company in October.  The agreement will allow the company to operate its nuclear and coal-fired power plants until their deactivation dates, or longer if state lawmakers pass the bailout sought by the firm.
