A Franklin County judge charged with OVI is now facing a charge of obstructing official business.

Prosecutors say 54-year-old Monica Hawkins prevented police from collecting a blood sample from her after she refused to take field sobriety tests during her January 31 arrest in Pickerington. Police obtained a search warrant for the sample after she also refused to take a breathalyzer test. Hawkins has been on the bench since her arrest and is due to appear in court on Thursday. She and her attorney have declined comment.
