A Franklin County Common Pleas Court judge is scheduled to appear in a courtroom on February 14th to face an OVI charge.
54-year-old Monica Hawkins, was stopped Thursday night on State Route 256 in Pickerington. Police say the officer noticed a strong odor of alcohol in the vehicle, and Hawkins could not pass field sobriety tests. Police say refused a chemical test, they obtained a warrant for a blood sample that was taken at a local hospital. Police say Hawkins refused to give a the sample so security had to hold her down to obtain it. Hawkins was elected last November. So far, she has declined comment.
