Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio is amassing millions of dollars toward his 2022 reelection bid.
Portman added more than 1 million dollars to his already healthy campaign fund last Friday. A campaign spokesperson tells the Associated Press the money was raised at a hometown event hosted by members of the wealthy Lindner family. Also last week, Portman's campaign said he raised 100 thousand dollars at a Cleveland fundraiser. These dollars were raised before Portman reported having nearly 2.4 million on hand at the end of the first quarter.
