The U.S. Department of Transportation says 1 million dollars in emergency relief funds will go toward repairing the I-70 bridge over the West outerbelt damaged last week when a tanker truck carrying ethanol caught fire. Westbound lanes of I-70 have been repurposed to carry eastbound traffic past the damaged area. Ohio Department of Transportation deputy director Ferzan Ahmed told reporters yesterday a new type of detour will help ease congestion at the 270-Roberts Road interchange.

Ahmed says it is part of an effort to ease congestion while the interchange is repaired. Ahmed says the work is on track to be completed by August 1st.
