The Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority will lay off 41 employees as it begins to privatize management of its nearly 14 hundred public-housing units. The agency will hire a property management company beginning on March 1, saying the move will save as much as 2 million dollars a year. The union representing the affected workers says the agency gave employees little notice of the plan. The workers will receive a severance package.
