Local Judge Denies Request To Block State From Auditing ECOT

A Franklin County judge on Monday denied a request by Ohio's largest online charter school to block the state from conducting an attendance audit. The audit of the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrorow - or ECOT - was supposed to begin on Monday. A preliminary review by the state raised questions about ECOT's attendance figures, which helps determine how much state funding the organization receives. A major issue in the case is how many hours equate to learning time.  ECOT gets 107 million dollars from the state annually.
