Former Fire Chief Is New Columbus Safety Director

The new Columbus Safety Director is a City Hall veteran. Retired Fire Chief Ned Pettus was appointed yesterday. He was among four finalists selected by Mayor Andy Ginther. Pettus will be in charge of rebuilding relationships between Columbus' black community and police and fighting the city's heroin epidemic.
