Ohio Governor John Kasich has granted clemency to a death row inmate scheduled for execution on April 11.
The move follows a recommendation by the Ohio Parole Board to grant clemency to William Montgomery. His attorneys argued there were too much doubt and uncertainty about the case and that prosecutors withheld evidence at trial that could have changed the result. Kasich commuted Montgomery's sentence to life withoutparole.
