The federal government has fined and cited an elevator company following a fatal accident at a Grove City construction site last April.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is fining ThyssenKrupp just over 142 thousand dollars after 45-year-old Randy Wilson of Worthington died when an elevator platform fell into the pit in which he was working. Wilson was a mechanic working under contract with ThyssenKrupp at the Mount Carmel Grove City site on North Meadows Drive. The agency cited the company for failing to train employees about specific hazards. ThyssenKrupp will have a chance to contest the findings.
