Grand Jury Clears Fayette County Deputies In Suspect's Fatal Shooting

A Fayette County grand jury says two sheriff's deputies acted within policy when they killed an armed Columbus man who shot and injured one of them last October. 

22-year-old Eric Stromer fired at a deupty trying to subdue Stromer's female companion at a Jeffersonville motel. The deputies were responding to a noise complaint. The grand jury indicted the woman, 21-year-old Elissa Garrison of Columbus, on charges including obstruction.   Sergetnt Todd Oesterle was wounded and Deputy Jason Havens returned fire.
