The Fairfield County Sheriff's office has identified the man shot and killed by deputies last Sunday after they say the victim fired on them at a local motel.
Authorities say in a press release 22-year-old Eric Stromer of Columbus was killed at a motel on Carr Road. The deputy who was wounded in the exchange of gunfire has been released from an area hospital. A woman who authorities say interfered when deputies tried to arrest Stromer has been criminally charged. 21-year-old Elissa Garrison of Columbus is being held on a 125 thousand dollar bond on charges of complicity to felonious assault and obstructing official business. The release says deputies responded to a disturbance call at the motel. When the situation was brought under control, deputies then arrested and attempted to secure Stromer when Garrison allegedly interfered. A deputy then fired a Taser at Garrison and Stromer pulled out a gun.
