U.S. Attorney's Office

A Dayton man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for trying to join ISIS.

Laith Alebbini was convicted last year on charges of conspiracy and attempting to aid a terrorist organization. Prosecutors say the Jordanian citizen hatched a plot to fly to Syria and train with ISIS.  He was arrested in 2017 at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky airport.
