Jacobs Responds To Complaints That Protestors Were Mistreaded By CDP

Columbus Division of Police

Columbus Police Chief Kim Jacobs posted a video on social media Tuesday addressing the arrests last week at Republican U.S. Senator Rob Portman's Columbus office.

Jacobs said the protesters delayed medics from responding to a reported medical emergency. A spokesperson for the protestors, some of whom are disabled, say one was dumped out of a wheelchair by officers and there was no emergency.  Sixteen people  were arrested while urging Portman to maintain his opposition the Senate's health care bill. The Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating.
