Columbus Safety Director Ned Pettus has upheld police chief Kim Jacobs' recommendation to fire the officer accused of soliticiting prostitutes while on duty.
Jacobs in June recommended Randall Mayhew be fired. Three women accused Mayhew of paying them for sex. An Internal Affairs investigation found that he solicited the women, engaged in conduct unbecoming an officer, and falsified a police run. Mayhew has been on desk duty since January of 2016. He pleaded guilty to a dereliction of duty charge.
